The Common Freelancing Misconceptions – One may linger in ignorance about something if there are no explanations to shed light on it. People out of myopic idea believe that freelancing is not a job to rely on; they conclude that it’s not easy getting projects or jobs and so on. This is what led to this topic of, discussing the Common Freelancing Misconceptions and how can you get past that level of reasoning?

They could be right; from a lair man point of view living in the 1980s, after all, there are more than 70 million freelancers in the US, India, and Europe combined. The percentage of freelancers from other parts of the world is daily on the increasing side. Notwithstanding, freelancing is not as boring as people believe it is.

Some freelancing misconceptions

#1. Struggle to get projects

This being one of the most common misunderstandings related to freelancing, the actuality is to a certain extent different. In life, behind any success is determination. In freelancing, only those who are ready to sacrifice time, and put more effort to turn their skill into real business can benefit from it immensely. Data from Upwork shows that on their platform, there are 9.7 million freelancers operating from more than 180 countries, and work worth more than $940 million is conducted on an annual basis. This volume alone is enough to debunk the freelancing misconceptions.

 #2. Not a Full-Time Job

No doubt, freelancing is not a full-time job, but that does not mean that a full-time job is better. There are lots whose full-time job could not cover their bills but have skills like writing, graphic design, marketing, etc, and have since focused on building their freelancing career. Research has shown that the percentages of freelancers who are satisfied and not ready to go back to full-time employment are higher.

#3. Receiving Payment; Very Difficult.

This is one of the ways people view freelancing and it might have scared people away from the world of self-employment. Every freelance marketplace has taken care of such; they have a good means for making sure that, freelancers get paid for their work. There are various trouble-free ways to receive payment; there are plenty of tools out there that aid invoice building. With the help of the internet, invoicing and receiving payments have been made easy.

#4. Startup not Easy

Many see it as a difficult career to start because it is full of uncertainty; no, freelancing is a career for determined-hearted individuals with the burden to solve problems. If you don’t have this mindset, you will never imagine the ease in this business. Data have shown that millions of full-time self-employed persons have continued to pave the way in earning over the years. There are plenty of freelancer platforms to get one freelancing career started; such as Fiverr, Upwork, freelancer, oziconnect, etc.

In conclusion, freelancing is a kind of work that cannot be predicted; only a self-disciplined and determined person can move ahead and dispel all the misconceptions, to enjoy the benefits of freelancing.
